History:
Diggory was born in northern France as a Manush (Manouches in French.) His father had been of noble birth, and his mother was a native of the gypsy life. The young noble had fallen in love with the Manush woman, and was quickly disowned when he defied the word of his parents' and ran away with the then pregnant gypsy. As Diggory grew up, his father never spoke of his own upbringing, but made sure that Diggory would be educated and carried himself properly in public: good posture and proper grammar. As well as the education from his father, his mother taught him how to perform: playing instruments such as the psaltery and the rebec ([link]), as well as some other tricks.

By the time Diggory was 10, the Manush caravan that him and his family was part of, had found a comfy location in southern France, where they stayed for years. The young Pichu was now very well versed in the ways of the Manush, performing almost everyday to bring back money to help provide food and other necessities for the entire camp.

Around the time Diggory had turned 20, a little after at least (and finally a Pikachu), music was second nature to him. This had earned him the attention of a nobleman's wife and children. The woman asked if he would walk with them back to their mansion and speak with her husband. After giving the woman a funny look, he nodded and accompanied them back.

Upon his arrival, a Charmeleon nobleman approached, his name was Jean Luc. Over the process of a few hours, Jean Luc interviewed the young man and invited him to play at an upcoming party. He would be paid handsomely if he did everything that was asked of him. Not thinking too much on the wording of the noble, he agreed, and was let out of the mansion by one of the servants.

The time of the party came around, Diggory was taken care of. Bathed and clothed, to look presentable for the gathering. Even new instruments were provided for him for the duration. Jean Luc met with the Pikachu before hand and told him that he would receive his payment in the study later in the evening, all he had to do was meet with Jean Luc afterwards. Diggory performed all night at the party, playing music and singing a little, entertaining the nobles that were present with simple tricks that he had learned over the years. It was a wonderful night. On top of the money he was to receive from the Charmeleon, he was getting small bits from the party-goers. Finally the end of the night came, he was tired, but dragged himself to the study to speak with Jean Luc. Once there...Jean Luc had had something else in mind at the end of the night, a little bit of fun...as it were. Diggory was stunned. He hadn't been expecting....how could he? The Raichu refused the noble's sexual requests, and was thus thrown out of the mansion with no money, even the money he had been given from the others was taken from him.

Dragging himself back towards the gypsy camp, he stopped somewhere on the road and sat down on a small rock wall, trying to gather his thoughts. It was here that he was approached by a young girl, a Buneary. She sat down next to him and talked. With a warm smile he patted the girl on the head and reached into a bag that he had brought to the party, which held his own instruments. Retrieving his psaltery, he began to play music for the small girl, joining in the dance himself. The chance little encounter, did wonders for the Pikachu's down spirit.

Years later, Diggory was now in his late 20's, performing in a richer part of town, singing a small song about a noble that was a bit crooked. The noble caught wind of it, and didn't like it one bit. Sending out guards after him, Diggory ran back to the poor part of town to hide. Overhearing a conversation of two guards, he realized he had to flee France or he would die. That noble apparently had some power...more so than he thought. Making his way back to the gypsy camp, he explained it to his family and to the leader of the camp. Agreeing with him, they told him that it was alright but he would have to find the money to leave on his own. A few days passed, and no luck with money, desperation set in when he spotted a wanted poster with his face on it. An idea hit him like a rock, Jean Luc. He found himself knocking on the door to the mansion...practically begging Jean Luc for help...saying that he would do anything. Jean Luc made sure to hold him to those words. It was during this time spent with Jean Luc, that Diggory evolved into a Raichu, against his will. Jean Luc had approached him one day and shoved a lightning stone into the young man's hands. Before Diggory could be rid of it, he was writhing on the floor in pain, newly changed, to his dismay. Jean Luc called it a gift, as was a continuous theme for the man, which usually meant pain.

Two months went by, and Diggory played the part of the toy for Jean Luc everyday. Jean Luc finally gave the money, and Diggory fled, heading south to the city of Venice. Here he found the local Romanies, and joined their ranks. Finally enjoying a somewhat peaceful life again.

Personality: Diggory is a normally happy character. The life as a gypsy has been fairly kind to him. Not easy to anger, he handles most situations calmly, with a level head.
